Return and Refund Policy
At Sweet as Choice Bakery, we take pride in every product we make. Because our baked goods are perishable and made to order, we have the following refund policy:
1. Cancellations
- You must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel an order for a refund.
- Orders cancelled less than 48 hours before pickup/delivery, or orders that are already in preparation, are non-refundable.
- Once an order has been paid in full and/or the preparation has begun, no refund will be issued, unless at our discretion.
2. Pickups & Deliveries
- Once your order has been picked up or delivered, it is considered accepted.
- We are not responsible for damage, melting, or mishaps that occur after your order leaves our bakery.
- If you need advice on transporting or storing your products, we’re happy to help.
3. Product Issues
- If there is an issue with the quality, damage, or incorrect order, please contact us immediately with photos and your order number.
- We may offer a replacement, re-icing, or store credit at our discretion.
- Refunds for taste, decoration style, or colour preferences will only be considered if we retain the product.
4. Perishable Items
- All products should be consumed catering within 24 hours, cakes within 3 days, unless otherwise stated.
- We cannot provide refunds for quality concerns after this period.
5. Shipped Orders
- All shipped items are sent at the customer’s risk once they leave our bakery.
- We are not liable for delays, loss, or damage during transit.
6. Exceptions
- No refunds are given for late pickups, no-shows, or events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, courier delays).
- All refunds are issued as store credit. No cash refunds are provided.

Shipping Policy
Once your order has been picked up or delivered, it is considered accepted and fulfilled. Customers take full responsibility for transporting and handling their items from that point. We are not liable for any damage, melting, or mishaps once products have left our premises. We’re happy to provide transport or storage advice if requested.
Products placed outside during events may melt or deform due to heat. We are not responsible for any damage once items have been picked up or delivered.
For deliveries, we are responsible only until we drop off your order at the delivery address. After that, we cannot be held liable for damage or melting. Your delivery location must have a safe and legal area to unload from. Workplaces must ensure staff are aware of the delivery to allow smooth access. If we are unable to reach your location or safely park, we may need to cancel the delivery without refund, and we cannot wait beyond the arranged time frame.
Refunds will not be given for design, colour, or decoration differences once a cake has been accepted. If you raise a concern at pickup, we may, at our discretion, re-ice or refund the cake (if we retain it). Refunds for flavour or quality will only be considered if the cake is returned for assessment.
We cannot issue refunds for consumed products, late pickups, or no-shows. Pickup times are confirmed at booking, and if you do not make contact or arrive late, we cannot guarantee freshness.
For shipped items, we use NZ Post / CourierPost overnight services (delivery times are targets, not guarantees). Once dispatched or collected by the courier, orders are at the customer’s risk. We are not responsible for late, missing, or damaged parcels — please order these products at your own risk.

1. Overview
Welcome to Sweet as Choice Bakery. By visiting our website, placing an order, or using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and Shipping Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or place an order.
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of our services means you accept the new terms.
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
2. Ordering
All orders must be placed through our website or confirmed by email.
Payment is required in full at the time of ordering unless agreed otherwise. Orders are not confirmed until payment has been received.
If you need to cancel or change your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations to receive a refund. Orders cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or those already in preparation, are non-refundable.
3. Pickups
Once a product has been picked up, customers accept full responsibility for transporting it safely.
We do not offer refunds for any damage or mishaps that occur once your order has left our premises.
If you are unsure how to transport your cake or products, we’re happy to give advice — just ask!
Once picked up, your order is considered accepted. Refunds will not be given for decoration style, colour, or design preferences after collection.
4. Deliveries
We are responsible for your order until it has been delivered to the address provided. Once handed over, we are no longer liable for any damage, melting, or issues that occur afterwards.
Your delivery address must have a safe, legal, and accessible space for us to unload.
For workplaces, please ensure staff know we are coming to ensure a smooth delivery.
If we cannot access your delivery location safely, we may be unable to deliver your order, and no refund will be given. We cannot wait or stay past the agreed delivery time frame.
5. Shipping
Selected items are available for nationwide shipping. All parcels are sent via NZ Post / CourierPost on an overnight service where possible.
Please note: overnight delivery is a target, not a guarantee.
Once collected by the courier, your parcel becomes the customer’s responsibility. Sweet as Choice Bakery is not liable for any delays, damage, or loss once your order is with the courier. Please order shipped products at your own risk.
If your parcel arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 24 hours with photos and your order number so we can help.
6. Refunds & Quality
Refunds are only offered at our discretion and in line with our Refund Policy.
We cannot offer refunds for:
Change of mind or taste preferences
Damage caused after pickup or delivery
Late pickups or no-shows
Quality concerns raised outside the product’s freshness window
Our products are perishable and should be consumed within 24 hours for Catering, 3 days for Cakes (or as stated on the label).
If there’s an issue, please contact us as soon as possible with details and photos so we can review your concern fairly.
7. Allergies & Dietary Information
We offer a range of gluten-free products made in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen.
However, other products are made in a standard kitchen that handles gluten, nuts, and other allergens such as eggs and milk.
Please read all product information carefully and contact us if you have any dietary questions before ordering.
8. Intellectual Property
All images, logos, and content on this website belong to Sweet as Choice Bakery. They may not be used, copied, or distributed without our written permission.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
