A Life Long Dream
Opening Sweet as Choice Bakery has been a lifelong dream come true. After years of working my way up through the hospitality industry and learning every part of the trade, I knew it was finally time to take the leap. In March 2024, that dream became a reality — and Sweet as Choice Bakery was born, built on passion, experience, and a love for creating classic Kiwi bakes that bring joy to others.

At Sweet as Choice Bakery, we’re all about keeping it Kiwi. Baking the classic treats we all grew up with and love. Our focus is on Kiwi favourites done well, using quality ingredients and a good dose of nostalgia. From timeless slices to old-school bakes, we aim to bring back those familiar flavours that make you smile and remind you of home.
And We Keep on Growing!
We’re continuing to grow every step of the way. What started as a small bakery selling cookies and slices at local markets has expanded to include whole cakes and catering — and we’re just getting started! In November 2024, we fully opened our very own drop-in shop at the bakery, followed by a separate dedicated Gluten Free Kitchen in March 2025, allowing us to expand in offering a fully gluten-free range. The support we’ve received has been absolutely incredible and has opened the door to so many amazing opportunities. We couldn’t have done it without you and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
